Streako is a habit tracker for Android. You add the habits you want to build, tap to check in when you do them, and watch your streaks, XP and level grow. Friends can join you in challenges with a live leaderboard. It is free, and it has no ads.
That is the short version. The longer one is about why it works the way it does. Most people who try a habit tracker give up within weeks, and the reasons are predictable: too many habits, rigid schedules, and one missed day wiping out a month of progress. We wrote about those reasons in why people quit habit trackers. Streako is built around fixing them.
Who Streako is for
Streako suits anyone who wants a few habits to stick and finds a growing number motivating. In practice, that tends to mean:
- Beginners who want a simple start without a wall of settings (habit tracker for beginners).
- Students whose timetable changes every term and who need habits that survive exam weeks (for students).
- Professionals protecting focus time, sleep and exercise around a busy week (for professionals).
- People with ADHD who like visible, forgiving structure (for ADHD). It is a practical tool, not a treatment.
- Couples and friends who want to build habits together (for couples).
If you want a plain checklist with no numbers at all, a paper tracker might suit you better. Streako is for people who enjoy seeing progress add up.
How it works
- Add a habit. Choose yes/no (made my bed), count (8 glasses of water) or timed in minutes (20 minutes of reading).
- Give it a real schedule: every day, chosen weekdays, a number of times per week, a number of times per month, or every few days.
- Pick a difficulty: Easy, Medium or Hard. It sets how much XP each check-in earns.
- Set a reminder for the time and days you will actually do it.
- Check in with one tap from the Today screen.
Every habit keeps its own current streak, best streak, total completions and a calendar of every check-in. You can add an optional note and mood to a check-in, which makes it easier to spot what was going on during your best weeks. Need a break? Pause a habit instead of deleting it, or archive it and keep the history.

Streaks that respect your schedule
A streak only counts the days a habit is due. Daily habits count in days, weekly habits in weeks and monthly habits in months. So a three-times-a-week gym habit never looks broken on a rest day, and a Sunday call with your parents is not "missed" on Tuesday.
Freeze tokens and late check-ins
Keep a daily streak going for 7 days and you earn a freeze token. You can hold up to 2. If you miss a scheduled day, a token is spent automatically and the streak carries on. Did the habit but forgot to tap? Log it late, up to 7 days back, and if that day was frozen you get the token back.
This is not a gimmick. In the best-known study of habit formation, a single missed day did not materially affect how habits formed (Lally et al., 2010). A tracker should not punish you harder than your brain does.
XP, levels and 14 badges
Easy habits earn 5 XP, Medium 10 and Hard 20, with a streak bonus of up to +10 XP. Levels grow with the square root of your total XP, so early levels come fast and later ones take steady work. Fourteen badges mark milestones such as your first check-in, a 30-day streak or a Perfect Day. None of it can be bought, not even with Pro.
Friends and challenges
Add friends and see their milestones in an activity feed. Start a challenge with a start and end date, invite people with a code or a QR scan, and climb a leaderboard ranked by completions. Your profile is private by default.
FeatureFriends & challengesAdd friends, follow their milestones and race each other in shared challenges.See how it worksStats you can act on
Weekly stats and a streak calendar come free, along with a mini heatmap on every habit card. Streako Pro adds monthly and yearly trends, the full heatmap history and best-day analysis, so you can see which days you are strongest and where a habit is slipping.
Privacy, and why there are no ads
The Streako app has no ads and no advertising or analytics SDKs, on any plan. You can export all your data as JSON, or your check-ins as CSV, and delete your account from settings whenever you like. Check-ins save on your phone and sync when you are back online.
What is free and what is Pro
The core of the app is free: streaks, freeze tokens, reminders, XP, levels, all 14 badges, friends, joining challenges and weekly stats, for a set number of active habits. Pro is optional and adds unlimited habits, advanced insights, smart reminders that learn your rhythm, all 9 colour themes and bigger challenges. The pricing page has the current details.
A good first week with Streako
- Pick one to three habits. Not ten. You can add more once these feel easy.
- Make each one small enough to do on your worst day: one page, one glass, two minutes.
- Anchor it to something you already do, like brushing your teeth or making coffee.
- Set one reminder per habit, at the moment you will actually do it.
- Expect to miss a day. That is what freezes are for. Just do not miss two in a row.
Is Streako free?
